I must be one of the only people who does not have sizing problems with this brand–an 11 always works perfectly for me! I have been sizing up from my former 10 for a few years now, though, because I have started to have some circulation issues in my legs and feet. This style was my first pair of Keens and I was very impressed with the comfort of the fit–yes, they truly do fit like a glove and that can take some getting used to. I was not used to being able to wear a pair of shoes all day without wanting to take them off the second I walked in the door–with these I forgot all about that and nearly could have gotten into bed with them on they are that comfy.
Wonderful shoe - My sister bought a pair of these shoes and wore them for the very first time, right out of the box, walking around in New York City. She absolutely loved them, and didn’t have to “break them in” at all - they were just as comfortable at the end of the day as they were at the beginning. Based on that rather glowing review, I decided to buy a pair myself and have been equally as happy. Keen Vail Boots for Winter season. She warned me in advance to buy a full size larger than my “normal” shoe size, so I did and they fit perfectly.
Great but faded - I’ve had the ombre/china blue shoes for about 6 months, and they are wonderfully comfortable, but the colors around the front of the shoe have faded. The blue is now more of a light tan. This is a bit disappointing for me, because I used to wear them to work, when they were darker, and now they look less professional. I may downgrade them to light hiking and running around shoes, and buy some presidios in black. I thought the black Bronx were a bit too chunky-looking.
The perfect winter shoe - I’ve had the Keen Bronx for about a year now, and it’s not my first Keen either. A lot of wonderful things have already been said about the Trinidads, the Yoguis, and the Newports. A lot of great things have already been said about this shoe as well, but there may be a couple of things that haven’t been touched on yet, both good and bad. Firstly, the fit is typical Keen, which means it varies. In this case my size 9.5 became a size 10, and it’s a form-fitting size 10 as well, not having that gunboat look at all. At the same time I haven’t had a problem with thick socks, and they keep your feet toasty warm and dry in the winter. The shoes also take a beating. You can dirty them up as much as you like jumping in mud puddles, but it will all just wipe off. What makes it a good winter shoe is that your foot sets very low to the surface. You can really feel where your foot is walking, and that’s good when you’re in icy and sloshy urban conditions. The traction is likewise awesome for that snow/ice/pebbles/salt/sand combo of typical winters in Helsinki. The soles really well and truly grip, making this a stylish unassuming-looking winter shoe. The bad part of it is these don’t have the padding of the Newports or Yoguis. They form to the feet nicely, but my New Balance 946 is way way way more supportive a walking shoe. But the Keen offers perfect winter traction, acceptable comfort and great looks so it’s the total package for winter time. I think the uses for the Bronx are very specific so if you’re looking for just a comfy walking shoe there is better for the money. However, if you need a comfy walking shoe that will get you safely down an iced-over sidewalk, then get these and don’t look back.
Oh yeah - Wow are these shoes comfortable. Fit like a glove - my feet feel cradled, protected, and pampered, with funky style, too! Seriously, they do run small - I usually wear a 6.5 - 7, ordered 7.5 and it is perfect for me. Zappos service is fantastic - shoes ordered in the morning shipped almost immediately and I got them two days later! Knowing I could return for free if the funny Keen sizing didn’t work out was a huge plus.
Keens around the world - These shoes took me around the world last year. They were the best investment I made before I left for that trip. From hiking in Patagonia to walking in the streets of Europe to trampling through the jungles in Southeast Asia these shoes were amazingly comfy. They dried quickly when they were soaked. Despite the abuse they took by the end of the year they were still as comfy and supportive as the first day I wore them. I never had to break them in they were perfect right out of the box. They never got stinky despite the number of times they got soaking wet and dried in a humid jungle. They were light weight and maintained their form even after being smashed in an over packed backpack. I have since bought two more pairs of Keen’s for work (ER nursing) and hiking and love them. My feet are notoriously problematic but in Keen’s it’s like they are normal feet without pain, blisters or calluses. I LOVE these shoes and would take them around the world with me again.
Fun urban tennis shoes. These were extremely comfortable walking shoes. I wore them in Europe without a problem (I got them 2 days before we left and put them on the day we left). I wear 8 1/2 but bought the 9 and they were perfect. Fun shoes with jeans and pants.
What a wonder they are! You want comfort? Grab these shoes. My friend tells me I like funky looking shoes-not true, I just don’t want the same look as most 50 year olds. These are wonderful! The only problem with Keen is that you may wear one size in a certain style and another size in a different style. But, they are great shoes. This is my fourth style and I’ll keep buying!
